Ann Mitchell Gibson, 70

May 21, 1953 – May 19, 2024

TUPELO – Patricia Ann Mitchell Gibson died Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Tupelo Health and Rehab from complications from a 2022 stroke – two days before her 71st birthday. Born in Tupelo on May 21, 1953, she was the only child of Paul Mitchell and Mary Frances Crump Mitchell, pioneer families in the Belden/Sherman area. A lifelong resident of Lee County, Ann graduated from Tupelo High School and was involved for years as a bookkeeper in the family business, Heavy Duty Cycles, a Harley-Davidson dealership in Tupelo. She worked occasionally in retail but enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother most, always doting, protecting and standing up for her three daughters, their children and their families. She was the widow of the late Ronald Thomas “Ron” Gibson who died Aug. 28, 2023. A strong, independent woman, Ann was an antique collector, loved ceramics, rock music, the outdoors and animals, was an avid Elvis fan, riding Harleys with her man, Ron, and watching football games esp. Miss. State University Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys (a Dax fan). Ann grew up attending West Jackson St. Baptist Church.



A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her cousin by marriage, Bro. Darrell Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Wed. only at Holland Funeral Directors, which is honored to be serving their friends. Ann is survived by her daughters, Michelle Sapp (Stephen) of Goshen, Ala., Angela “Angie” Clark (Mike) of Mantachie, and Amanda Gibson (Tyler) of Tupelo; her grandchildren, Kyle, Savannah, Mikey, Skylan and Chase; 1 great-grandchild, Tyler; and other near relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Chase Morgan, Cary Williams, Ronnie Warren, Eric Leathers, and Buddy Hall.
