Born January 9, 1948, in Boonville, Mississippi, Bro. Clyde was one of four children of the late Aaron and Betty “Balo” Michaels Davis. He received his education from Jumpertown High School and joined the United States Army, proudly serving our country being on the frontlines, fighting in the Vietnam War, and never forgetting to write letters to his, “sug”, Kathy. Three months after returning home, Bro. Clyde married his beloved wife, Kathy Plaxico Davis, on December 24, 1969. Together they lived in Tippah County, where they raised a family, and he was employed with Penn Tire, and the BiltRite Corporation until his retirement in 2001. Bro. Clyde’s greatest accomplishment is when the Lord led him to the ministry, founding and building the New Life Mission Church, alongside his wife, Kathy.

A Christian and Pastor over forty-five years, Bro. Clyde was a true servant of God who studied, read, and loved the word, and devoted his time to the community, helping others anyway possible. His favorite pastimes included, wood working and carpentry, which involved building his home and church, being outdoors while taking daily walks, cleaning and tending to his yard, and as his family would say, resembling “Rambo”, as he loved riding his four-wheeler and carrying his machete. Bro. Clyde will be remembered as a very family-oriented person who had a zest for life and passion for his grandchildren. His pleasant disposition, and deep love for family, friends, community, and church permitted him to lead others by example daily, care and support his family always, and live a life fully dedicated to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, Kathy Plaxico Davis, those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Jessica Deaton (Darrick), one sister, Jeaneen Brown (Craig), two brothers, Rickie Davis (Francile), and Tony Davis, seven grandchildren, Lydia Rowell (Mike), Chelsea Burns (Greg), Tanner Davis, Caleb Crum, Dillon Davis (Rebecca), Erika Davis, and Kaitlyn Deaton, six great grandchildren, Payslie Russell, Sykes Rowell, Paxon Russell, Waylon Davis, Cooper Rowell, and Kason Davis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Nova Crum, and one son, Russell Davis.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Dillon Davis, Greg Burns, Mike Rowell, Steve Plaxico, Robby Copeland, and Dalton Hurley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Crum, Bob Windham, Ricky Windham, Ryan Davis, Rickie Davis, Jr., Cole Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Chuck Plaxico, Joe Plaxico, and Eric Plaxico.
