Samuel Glen Sexton, Sr., 64, resident of Lamar, departed this life on Saturday July 6, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral Services honoring Mr. Glen’s life will be at 11 AM Friday July 12, 2024 in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Zilinsky officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday July 11, 2024, at the Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lamar Cemetery.

Mr. Glen was born July 21, 1959, in Collierville, TN to the late R. L. and Claudia Stockton Sexton. He received his education from Ashland High School and was known to be a “Jack of all Trades” and master of a few. He had a strong work ethic and was a small engine mechanic most of his life, working with Cook Auto for ten years until his retirement.

A Christan, Mr. Glen was an avid outdoorsman and always found much joy in fishing and hunting. He was a pillar in his small community, and people knew they could rely on him. Whether it was helping folks work on lawnmowers, or helping a neighbor out, Mr. Glen never turned anyone away. His family rang above all, as he enjoyed nothing more than being the best Papaw he could be to his “grandbabies”. Mr. Glen will be missed by his family and community deeply and leaves a gift to others, which will always be that of a good southern man who believed in good Christan values, helped people when he could, loved his family most, and gave all the credit to God.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Pauline Tice Sexton, three sons, Sam Sexton, G W Sexton (Laura), and Jeremy Sexton (Hailey), two brothers, Robert Sexton (Jean), and Dale Sexton (Kay), three sisters, Dianne Seward (Bob), Teresa Zilinsky (Jim), and Janice Sexton, and three “grandbabies”, Hayden, Rylee, and Mason.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Allen and Gary Sexton, and one sister, Francis King.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Mr. Glen’s family.
