2017 Christmas at the Museum: Santa, silhouette artist, scavenger hunt
Christmas scavenger hunt, Christmas crafts, Mississippi Craftsman Guild silhouette artist and Santa Claus are all part of the Christmas at the Museum celebration this Saturday, December 9, from 10 – 12 at the museum.
The themed trees at the museum include two scavenger hunt trees – one is themed for the Mississippi Bicentennial, a traditional tree with the toys all around, a literary themed tree and more. The Historic Northside Garden Club is partnering with the museum for the event and will offer free hot chocolate and cookies.
Parents have the opportunity to take photos of their children with Santa. Plus they can help their children make a Bicentennial Knot Doll.
The annual museum celebration offers activities for the young and old. The event is free with the exception of the silhouette artist, and the opportunity to have a professional paper cut silhouette done for gifts can be done by Mississippi Craftsman Sarah Rick from Kosciusko. Appointments can be made for this by calling the museum at 662-538-0014. Each sitting takes about 10 minutes and the cost is $25. A portion of the proceeds go to the museum’s capital campaign.
Santa will be at the museum from 10 – 12 and the Silhouette Artist will be available for appointments until 2. For more information or to make an appointment call 662-538-0014.
