2024 Fossil Road Show to be at Museum June 8

The 21st annual Fossil Road Show, one of Union County Heritage Museum’s most popular programs, will be in New Albany on Saturday June 8 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

George Phillips, Paleontologist with the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science will speak at 11. He is always interesting!

The public is encouraged to bring fossils and artifacts they’ve found and have them identified by an expert.

The  geode cracker will be here, and there will be many other displays and activities, including a rock-painting station and a booth with special lights to display the fluorescent properties of some minerals.

It’s a free event and is lots of fun. Who likes to find treasure? If you do, this is the program for you! The Fossil Road Show exhibits will provide many opportunities for young people to learn about the wonders to be found in nature and even in their own Mississippi backyard.
