Rep. Trent Kelly announces Gold Star Family Fellowship recipient
WASHINGTON – U.S. Congressman Trent Kelly (R-Miss.) is pleased to announce the selection of Pam Tolbert as the recipient of the Sergeant First Class Sean Cooley and Specialist Christopher Horton Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship. Mrs. Tolbert is the second Gold Star family member to be selected for the fellowship.
“I look forward to working with Rep. Kelly’s legislative team to address the concerns of other Gold Star family members,” Tolbert said. “I will be spending a lot of time with veterans and their families as well. It is an honor to receive this fellowship which means so much to our family.”
Background: Rep. Kelly authored House Resolution 107, The Sergeant First Class Sean Cooley and Specialist Christopher Horton Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 107 in October 2019. The legislation established a twelve-month, fully-funded fellowship in a Congressional office for siblings, spouses, parents, or children of service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to America.
Congressman Trent Kelly represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, serving as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations. Congressman Kelly also serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Agriculture Committee, and the House Budget Committee. This is his fourth term.
