Vintage Market Brings ‘Old Times’ to New Albany

The sun came out Thursday afternoon, March 12, just in time for the ribbon-cutting event that commenced the grand opening of New Albany’s newest hospitality business, Vintage Market, at 127 West Bankhead. Owner Sandra Wilson and her partner Donald Poitras served refreshments to well-wishers throughout the afternoon.

Boasting the only honest-to-gosh soda fountain in New Albany, (and the first new one to open in north Mississippi in decades) the décor and merchandise at Vintage Market give visitors a nostalgic treat that could have come straight off of one of the covers Norman Rockwell painted for the old Saturday Evening Post. “Old Times Not Forgotten” is the store’s theme.

Unique clothing items, collectibles and a variety of specialty foods are among the offerings one encounters before arriving at the lunch counter and its soda fountain located, as it should be, at the back of the store.
Vintage Market is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
