UPDATE: Arrest made in “shots fired” incident of Wednesday evening

New Albany, MS- New Albany police have arrested one person  and filed two felony charges against him related to a drive-by shooting Wednesday evening.

Four shots were fired at 8:41 pm Wednesday August 3, at a location behind Manning’s Barbecue, just east of Highway 15 in New Albany.

New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson said Michael Robertson (no relation) has been charged with Drive-By Shooting and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Michael Robertson gave his address as 623 Martin St., New Albany.

The chief said bond had been set at $50,000 on the drive-by and $10,000 on the firearm possession.

New Albany, MS- New Albany police were investigating an incident Wednesday evening in which a semi-automatic handgun was fired four times.
Witnesses reported shots were fired at 8:41 pm, at or near a residence behind Manning’s Barbecue at the intersection of Highways 15 and 178 in New Albany.
Police officers reportedly recovered some shell casings at the scene.
New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson said there were no reports of injuries. Police officers are continuing to investigate.
