Community projects are a learning tool for NAES students
Recycling: New Albany Elementary School students from Ms. Angela Victory’s 1st grade class and Mrs. Ninabeth Capaning’s EXCEL class were excited about the addition of special dumpsters to be used for recycling paper, plastics, aluminum and cardboard at NAES.
Obtaining the recycling dumpsters was a collaborative effort among the Historic Northside Garden Club Recycling Committee, New Albany Elementary School, City of New Albany, University of Mississippi, City of Oxford, and the Mississippi Recycling Coalition.
Food Pantry: 5th grade students Chandler Mathis, Mason Hill, Matthew Durrett, Xavier Russell, and Logan Deaton help sort the many food donations received during New Albany Elementary School’s annual food drive.
Donated food will be given to the Good Samaritan Center, Helping Hands, and the New Albany Elementary School Food Pantry to help needy families in the community. Photo of kids & donatons.
Christmas Caroling: On Monday, December 18, third grade students from New Albany Elementary School visited the Union County Health and Rehab to sing Christmas carols to the residents.
