New Albany Culinary Arts students compete in Jackson
Culinary Arts students from the New Albany School of Career & Technical Education placed in the FCCLA (Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America) state competition in Jackson, MS on February 28: Peyton Bridges, 1st place in Restaurant Services; Karla Sanders, 1st place in Knife Skills; and Zack Lyons, 2nd place in Poultry Fabrication.
The Culinary Arts team from the New Albany School of Career & Technical Education competed on March 1 in Jackson at the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) competition. The team had one hour to prepare a complete meal.
The menu included Holy Trinity Grits with a Cajun airline chicken breast, Sweet Potato Rosti, sautéed kale, and Crepe Suzette with orange supreme. The event included verbal feedback from one of the local chefs on how real life experiences enhance each students creativity in plating and making an impressive visual impression.
