Melba Elaine Littlejohn Beaty, 92, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. She was born June 30, 1926 in Union County to Luther Clark and Nannie Lou Reid Littlejohn. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and was known by her family to make the best coconut cake, which was always poplar at family and church gatherings.

She is survived by four daughters, Annie Louise Bailey, Melba Paulette Vernon, Vicky Turner(Allen), and Sinnamon Lopez (Francisco); one son, Phillip Thomas; one sister, Lillie Smith; one brother, Richard Littlejohn; nineteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Thomas; her second husband, Carl Beaty; a daughter, Georgia Ann Gann; two sons, Roy Wallace Thomas and Luther David Thomas; a sister Louise Denton; and two brothers, Reid Littlejohn and Thomas Littlejohn; seven grandchildren: Shirley Swords, Selena Gann, Tommy Vernon, Keith Gulliam, Mindy McCleer, Jeffrey Thomas and Sandra Swords.

Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2019 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Larry Bain officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
