Museum Madness discovery camp for youths is July 13-17

The Union County Heritage Museum will have its annual Museum Madness program, Camp Create, for children Monday through Friday, July 13-17.

The summer discovery camp is for students entering the second through fifth grades. Participation is always limited to ensure each child receives plenty of attention and assistance.

This year’s program will be limited to 10 participants in a morning program and 10 in an afternoon program. Classes will be 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. with participation on a first-come first-served basis.

The programs this year include:

Monday – Nature’s Construction Crew. Learn about the life of a bee and other pollinators.

Tuesday – Test Your Lego Building Skills. Build bridges, zip lines and more.

Wednesday – Stretch, Twist and Bend. Build your body with yoga and get creative with your own bath bombs.

Thursday – STEM Day. Explore how things work. Experiment with Gizmos and Gadgets.

Friday – Junior Puppet Masters Day. Create your puppet, draw your set, tell your story.

The fee is $10 per day for members of the Union County Historical Society and $15 for non-members. Campers will receive T-shirts.

Masks will be provided for campers. Social distancing will be in effect and sanitation will be used for the sessions. Temperatures of campers will be taken also.
