Mother Dorothy Jean Beard Stinson, 82, transitioned on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Methodist Healthcare In Olive Branch. She was born in Benton County, Mississippi on February 23, 1938 to Mr. Major Beard and Mrs. Anna Crum Beard.



She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Mothers Ministry until her health declined.

Mother Dorothy dedicated her life and devoted herself to her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and community families.

Mother Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband of sixty years, Lee Stinson, Jr.; four sons, Wayne (Jane) Stinson of Byhalia, Mississippi, Antione (Annie) Stinson of Grand Junction, Tennessee, Wallace (Sherri) Stinson of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Michael (Tracy) of Southaven, Mississippi; six daughters, Joan (Eric) Lester, Linda Moore, Tina Lester, and Annette (Oran) Mitchell, all of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Sharon (Terence) Isom of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Loretha (John) Thompson of Buford, Georgia; three step-children, Ivory Clark and Roy Clark, both of Aurora, Illinois, and Erma Clark of Southaven, Mississippi; 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Georgia) Beard of Memphis, Tennessee and Major Beard, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; one sister, Lorine Hope of Byhalia, Mississippi; one brother-in-law, Roy Hearn of Holly Springs, Mississippi; two sisters-in-law, Flora Stinson of Holly Springs, Mississippi and Johnnie Ree Beard of Memphis, Tennessee; four special nieces, Betty Myers, Verna Cooper, Latonya Prescott, and Gloria Walls; two special nephews, Felix Stinson, Jr. and Jeffery Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Major and Anna Beard; two daughters, Lennette Stinson and Dorothy Bonds; a granddaughter, Telsi Isom; two brothers, James Beard and Walter Beard; three sisters, Lucy Jones, Ada Harris, and Ethel Walker.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 4-6p.m., at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will take place at Mt. Moriah M.B. Church Cemetery in Holly Springs. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
