Thunderstorms producing flash flooding on area roadways
Union County Emergency Management Director, Curt Clayton, reported to NEMiss.News that tonight’s thunderstorm has produced some local flooding. Motorists should be on the lookout for dangerous flash flood conditions as storms continue through the night.
The storm brought winds and hail to the area earlier this evening, Friday April 9, as well as heavy rains.
As a result of the storm, Clayton reported at about 9:00 PM that there has been flooding on Highway 178 at Sherman, and on CR 194. Additionally, the BNSF tracks at Highway 9 at Blue Springs are flooded.
There have been no reports of any injuries or significant property damage in the county, according to Clayton.
