Paving preparatory work begins Tuesday on Moss Hill Drive

Motorists in New Albany may want to avoid Moss Hill Drive for awhile.

Pre-levelling work began Tuesday on the street to prepare it for eventual resurfacing.

This means one could face traffic delays as well as picking up asphalt or loose gravel.

It’s not clear how many days will be needed for the work because rain may impact progress.

City officials have been wanting to have at least some city streets that are neediest repaired this year but have been delayed by lack of availability on the part of paving companies.

Work was also put off until school was out, due to the heavy use of the street.

This is part of a $1 million project to improve some of the worst streets in each of the city’s four wards.
