Roger Keith Coggins, a self-employed painter from West Point, Mississippi, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 64, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born on February 1, 1959, to Horace Coggins and Shelby Henley Coggins, Roger leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and the imprint of a life well-lived.



Roger is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Autrey, his son, Michael Coggins, and two adoring grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Brenda Carpenter and Molly Franklin, as well as his special friend, Teresa Harris, who brought joy and companionship to his life.

A man of many passions, Roger found fulfillment in the artistry of painting, showcasing his talent as a self-employed painter. Beyond his professional pursuits, he took pleasure in the simple joys of life. Roger was an avid gambler, enjoyed playing cards, and found excitement in watching football, particularly cheering on his favorite team, the Ole Miss Rebels. His evenings were often spent immersed in the intriguing stories on the ID channel, reflecting his fascination with true crime narratives.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Coggins and Shelby Henley Coggins, his brother, Eugene Coggins, and his sister, Sandra Lollar. Their memory, along with the love and laughter they shared, will forever be cherished by those who knew Roger best.

In accordance with Roger’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held at a later date, providing an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate his life and share their fondest memories.
