Mabel Lee Reeder Huffstatler, 94

September 2, 1929 – June 17, 2024

Mabel Lee Reeder Huffstatler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 17, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on September 2, 1929, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, and resided in Ecru, Mississippi, at the time of her passing.



Mabel was a devoted homemaker and found joy in caring for her family. She had a deep love for her daughters, Brenda Moore (Tom), Marilyn Mason, Suzanne Montgomery (Shane), and stepdaughter Judy Craig. Mabel cherished moments spent with her three grandchildren, Scott Mason (Amanda), Kayla Kolp (Adam), and Jordan Montgomery (Cari Ann), who brought immense happiness to her life. The arrival of five great-grandchildren, Peyton and Keira Ollis, Ava Mason, and Otto and Oakli Montgomery, and another on the way, further enriched her days.

Mabel had many hobbies that brought her fulfillment. She enjoyed sewing beautiful clothes for her daughters, tending to her garden, and cooking for her family. Mabel’s kind and nurturing spirit extended to her involvement in her community, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Cherry Creek Baptist Church.

Mabel was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Leland Huffstatler, one brother, and three sisters. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ricky Mason. Though Mabel’s presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, devotion, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family invites those who knew Mabel to join them in celebrating her life on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherry Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Cherry Creek Cemetery.
