Jimmy Earl Walker, Sr., 78

March 26, 1946  –  August 3, 2024

BELDEN – For 78 years, Jimmy Walker walked, worked, laughed and lived amongst us serving his family, others and his God. He met his Creator from Sanctuary Hospice House on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024 after a period of declining health. Jimmy was a dude in every way! He loved adventure, loved picking on folks, loved his family, loved his work of over 35 years and left this world with a legacy of respect for labor, love of Country and a passion for bringing folks together for the common good. Jimmy was born Jimmy Earl Walker in the Ballardsville Community of Itawamba Co. on March 26, 1946 to the late Columbus Napolean (C.N.) Walker and Ann McMillen Walker Gray Wilburn. He graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School. Jimmy spent over 35 years as founder, owner and hands on operator of Walker’s Janitorial and Carpet Cleaning. His clients were expansive and he never met a stranger and never did he not appreciate his friends. On May 1, l982, he married his partner and soul mate, Kathryn Ann Brandon in Tupelo, a marriage of 42 years. Jimmy was among the greatest of “piddlers”. He was good with his hands, more than a scratch mechanic and loved rebuilding antique cars. Motorcycles were among his passions. He loved race cars and car racing. In the l990’s, he took up skydiving and took numerous dives across the Mid-south. An Ole Miss Rebel through and through, he loved talking politics, his dogs especially Mason and being a 3rd degree Mason. Jimmy was a longtime member of the Belden Baptist Church. A survivor and optimist, he will be missed by his family and countless circle of friends who know he is rejoicing being reunited with his parents, family and two sons.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Monday, August 5, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with his son in law, Bro. Visitation will be from Noon-service time Monday only at Holland Funeral Directors, which is honored to be serving friends.
