Harry Dean Brown, 80

May 21, 1944  –  August 12, 2024

Blue Springs – Harry Dean Brown left this earth for his Heavenly home on Monday, August 12, 2024. He was born May 21, 1944 to Dean and Maggie Sue Brown, and he had two siblings, Arweeda Coker and Nita Brown.



Harry Dean was a graduate of Sherman High School, where he was an All-Star basketball and baseball player. Later, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and then pursued a career with UPS in Tupelo, MS, where he worked for thirty years before retiring in 2000.

Harry Dean enjoyed all sports and had a passion for antique vehicles and especially enjoyed participating in car shows.

He was a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church.

Harry Dean married Ann McCarty in May of 1971 and they have one child, their pride and joy Brian Brown, who was born December30, 1973.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Ann McCarty Brown and their son, Brian Brown, a sister, Arweeda Brown Coker, and her two children, Chad Coker, Lori Coker Wallace, and Camille Coker, and Arweeda’s grandchildren, Maggie Wallace and Reed Wallace, and Harry is also survived by his sister, Nita Brown, and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Lon and Beulah Brown, and Adrian and Cora Reeder.

Services to honor his life will be Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 4:00 pm at United Funeral Service, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. American Legion Post 72 will conduct military honors. Burial will be in the Sherman Cemetery.
