Dorn Olon Patton, 89
October 1, 1935 – October 9, 2024
TUPELO – Dorn Olon Patton was born in Marietta, MS on October 1, 1935, the youngest of 2 children born to DeWitt Olon Patton and Minnie Inez Johnson Patton. He realized the promises of his lifelong faith on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 and met his Creator from Tishomingo Community Living Center in Iuka. Dorn Patton had just celebrated his 89th birthday. On July 27, 1956, Dorn took Mary Evelyn Christian as his wife and she was his sweetheart for 68 plus years. The Pattons made Tupelo their home for over 60 years. He worked for various companies in office management and retired as office manager from Rutledge Construction, a job he greatly enjoyed! A quiet, gentle, patient man who took literally the Biblical admonition to “Love Neighbor as Self”, Dorn was kind hearted, giving and genuinely concerned about his family and others. He had many friends who loved having him as a part of their lives. PaPa especially adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A longtime member of the Skyline Church of Christ, Dorn lived a purpose filled life loving his God, his family and his many friends. He will be missed!
