Mary Elizabeth Anderson, 83

On October 12, 2024 God called Mary Elizabeth (Moment) Anderson home. Mary Elizabeth Anderson was born on December 21st, 1940, to the late Henry Moment and Berdell Adams Moment in Prentiss County. She was raised in a loving family alongside her siblings, and her deep sense of compassion and care for others was evident throughout her life.
Mary was a faithful member of Oakhill MB Church. Her strong faith in God guided her throughout her life. She was actively involved in her church Missionary Society, Usher Board, and Kitchen Committee until her health declined, but her devotion and love for the church family remained steadfast. Mary was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Heroines of Jericho.
Mary was well-known in the community for her famous fried pies, caramel cakes, and hamburgers which brought joy to all who tasted them. She was a wonderful cook who loved to share her gifts with others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Purl Anderson, her father Henry Moment, her mother Berdell Adams-Moment, her siblings: William Moment, Bobbie Ester Moment, Johnnie Clyde Moment, Willie Herman Moment, Mattie L. Moment-Billingsley, Ed Moment, and John Lewis Moment; brother-in-law William Gardner, and son-in-law Percy Williams.
Mary was a devoted wife to the late Purl Anderson, with whom she shared forty-six happy years of marriage. Together, they built a strong and loving family. Mary was a proud mother to Patricia Williams and Teresia Anderson (Bobby). She adored her oldest granddaughter LaShea Anderson Thomas (Reggie), her grandson Cary Williams (Lakaya) and her youngest grandson Logan Agnew. She was also proud of her cherished great-granddaughters Brianna Thomas, Madison Williams, and Morgan Williams.
She is survived by her sister Clara Gardner and her brother Robert Moment (Brenda), dear sisters-in-law: Esther Anderson, Minnie Anderson, Ophia Anderson, Ida Moment; brother-in-law Thomas Miller, a dear friend, Lucille Burress and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember her warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family.
