Sean Edwards, 59

August 30, 1965  –  October 15, 2024

NETTLETON – Sean Edwards, 59, departed this life on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was 59 years old. Born in Amory on August 30, 1965, Sean was the baby of the family to the late Joe Hollis and Mavis Joye McIntire Edwards. He received his education from the Nettleton Public School System and furthered his education as an apprentice through IBEW, where he worked as an electrician. Sean loved his job and was a valued employee of IBEW until an unfortunate accident occurred and he was not able to keep doing what he always loved to do. As a child, he was known as the spoiled brat of the family. Being the baby, he got his way with his stubborn streak. Growing up he was considered to be his two brothers’ shadow. When you saw one of them, you saw all three. Sean loved his family. He enjoyed any time the cousins could get together and his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy although he had no children of his own.

Sean was very talented in many ways. He used his hands to take things apart just so he could put them back together. His art talents were impeccable. He could draw anything and make it look so real. Sean’s favorite love was fishing, but always enjoyed every time he got to pick his guitar.

Funeral services remembering the life of Sean will be Friday, October 18, 2024, in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Scott Witcher officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 PM Noon and continue until service time. There will be a private burial following at Wren Cemetery in Monroe County, MS. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming where it will be afterward archived. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.

Those left to cherish his memories include his special fried and caregiver, Sue Mandrell; one sister, Terri Witcher (Scott) of Plantersville; five nieces, Lindsey Erin Smith, Heather Gilley, Landrie Levister, Misty Jordan and Raven Melindez; four nephews, Jamie Edwards, Michael Edwards, Scotty Mixon, and Tony Mixon; a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews.
