Ronald Gardner, 69
November 1, 1954 – October 20, 2024
Ronald Edward Gardner made his earthy entrance on November 1, 1954 in Corinth, MS. He was born to the late Rudolph and Icie Gardner. On the night of Sunday, October 20, 2024, God dispatched an angel to Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS to escort him to his eternal home.
He acknowledged Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with The Macedonia M. B. Church in Corinth, MS. His musical talents allowed him to serve other congregations shortly. He returned to Macedonia and remained a faithful member of the Music Department where he served as the church drummer and sang with the various choirs. Ronald’s big smile and bass voice helped usher in the Holy Spirit at Macedonia until his health failed and he could no longer attend and serve.
Ron began his secondary school education at Easom High School. After integration, he attended Corinth High School where he was a member of the Class of 1973. Ronald loved people. His outgoing personality led him to work with the public through serving at the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, while also working at Caterpillar. He remained at Caterpillar until he retired.
His God given musical talent were displayed in various ways. Whether he was beating the drums to a rhythm, picking the strings of a guitar, spinning various tunes as a D.J., or using that deep bass voice to add melody through singing; he was able to move a crowd. When he wasn’t engaged in music, he was utilizing his cooking skills to feed the body and soul of those he loved. His favorite food preparation was grilling and he did it with passion.
Ronald was preceded in death by: his parents- Rudolph and Icie Gardner; his paternal grandparents; Ambrose and Lula Gardner; his maternal grandparents, Wille Ed and Ressie Earnest; his son-Ahmarus Swinney; and his brother-Gregory Gardner.
