Darlene Badgley, 60

Rita Darlene Redding Badgley, affectionately known as Darlene, passed away on November 15, 2024, in Collierville, TN, at the age of 60. Born on February 10, 1964, in Memphis, TN, to the late Hayward Lyndell Redding and Fredlene Ralph Redding, Darlene’s life was marked by her loving spirit, her passion for her career, and her unwavering courage.
Darlene grew up in New Albany and was a proud 1982 graduate of New Albany High School. Her dedication to helping others led her to pursue and earn a BS Degree in X-ray Technology and Nursing. Throughout her career, Darlene touched countless lives as a travel nurse, a role that allowed her to combine her love for travel with her commitment to caring for others.
She resided in Arlington, TN, and cherished the memories of her hometown. Darlene’s life was filled with adventure and joy, which was evident in her remarkable feat of cycling the Tanglefoot Trail from New Albany to Houston, MS, as a cancer patient. This accomplishment was a testament to her resilience and determination.
Darlene’s sense of humor and loving nature were infectious, and she had the unique ability to light up a room with her presence. Her passion extended to her four- legged companions, and she was a devoted pet parent to her cherished fur babies.
She is survived by her loving husband, Todd Badgley. Darlene’s love extended to her sister, Sherry Mooneyhan (Rodney), and she held a special place in her heart for her nephew, J.R. Mooneyhan (Carla), and niece, Ashley Dillard (Daniel). Her joy was multiplied by her great-nieces and nephews, Jayla Brown, Hunter Dillard, Swayze Mooneyhan, and Remi Mooneyhan, who brought her immeasurable happiness.
Darlene also leaves behind her four bonus sons, Ryan, Logan, Brayden, and Payden Badgley, who were dear to her and enriched her life with their presence. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with love, humor, and warmth.
Throughout her life, Darlene was an active member of her community, forming lasting friendships and making a difference through her work and volunteer efforts. Her colleagues and patients will remember her for her unwavering compassion and dedication to her profession. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Arlington, TN.
Darlene’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and passion. She approached every challenge with grace and met every day with a smile. Her impact on the lives of those she touched will be felt for generations to come. Darlene’s spirit, her laughter, and her love will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we say goodbye to Darlene, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey filled with purpose, and a heart that gave so generously. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and face each day with courage and joy.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Darlene will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
There will be a visitation, Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at United Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 am, also at United Funeral Service with Bro. Greg Ward officiating. Burial will be at Vista Memorial Park.
