Sharon Kay Austin, known as “Peanut,” to those who loved her most passed away peacefully on Sunday December 8, 2024, at her home, after living a life filled with tremendous love, compassion, and devotion to her Christian faith, loving friends, and caring family.

Per Mrs. Sharon’s request, she will be cremated and although there will be no services held, we ask that you continue to share the stories and cherish the memories made with such a wonderful lady whose legacy will always live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Born April 2, 1959, in Mobile, Alabama, Ms. Sharon was the daughter of the late William Dawson and Agnes Lauren Powell Austin. She was a 1976 graduate of B. C. Rain High School and was employed as an over the road truck driver for twenty-seven years with the transportation industry until her retirement.

A faithful Christian, Ms. Sharon posed a sweet personality and welcoming spirt, who always provided the best for her children, accepted others for who they were, and tried to make everyone feel loved and cared for. She had a zest for life, as she found much joy playing Cafe Land games and scrolling through Facebook, keeping up with everyone close to her. Her great sense of humor and infectious smile could light up any room, as Ms. Sharon was very dedicated to her family and friends. She truly believed that everyone has a purpose in this life, and we are brought into the world to make it a better place before we leave. Through her contagious laughter, sharing heart, and steadfast love for family, friends, and Christ, Ms. Sharon made the world better for so many and will be deeply missed.

Those left to carry on her legacy include one son, James Clayton Ash, Jr. (Kelsey), one sister, Beth McNeeley, three brothers, Ronnie Austin, Vernon “Bubba” Austin, and Kenny Austin, one grandson, Carter Ash, and a host of family and friends

She is also preceded in death by her previous husband, Dean Forester, and sister, Ann Beverly.
