Brenda Mae Banks, 70

June 11, 1954 – January 5, 2025

Brenda Mae Bolden Banks was born June 11, 1954 to the late Wilbert Bolden, Sr. and Luizer Satterwhite Bolden in Tupelo, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Red Hill MB Church in Blue Springs, MS.

Brenda graduated from Belden High School, and attended Business College in Tulsa, OK. She worked as a legal secretary for the late Attorney James “Jimmy” Ford for several years, and later worked for Judge Barry Ford until her health began to fail.

In 1979, Brenda married the late James C. Banks, and to this union two children were born: a daughter, Brittany Banks, and a son, Jamieson Banks. They were also blessed to raise Dashanda Coleman and Sedrick Coleman.

Brenda considered being a mother her greatest accomplishment. She enjoyed reading, baking, shopping, and watching soap operas. Her favorite sports teams were the Chicago Bulls and the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and her all time favorite player was Michael Jordan. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Luizer Bolden; daughter, Brittany Banks; siblings, Doris Scott, Rommie Scott, James Marshall Scott, Wilma Berry, and Shelby Bolden; sisters-in-law, Rose Banks, Othella Calhoun (Lonnie), and Nancy Williams (Ricky); and brother-in-law, Robert Banks (Janice).

Brenda leaves to cherish her loving memories: her children, Jamieson Banks, Dashanda Coleman, and Sedrick Coleman; one sister, Teresa Farr (Kenneth); one brother, Wilbert Bolden, Jr.; grandchildren, Corvontae Smith, Jawun Coleman, Joshua Smith, Haelee Smith, and Sedarian Coleman; great grandchildren, Khloee Smith and Josiah Smith; sisters-in-law, Mary Williams (Don), Evelyn Price (Cliff), LaFrancis Hornbeak (Raymond), and Sherry Rucker (Darryl); brothers-in-law, Sparks Banks (Carolyn), Willie B. Banks, Lamar Banks (Deborah), and Lurie Banks (Doris); and a host of other relatives and friends.
