Barbara Christopher, 68

March 19, 1956  –  January 9, 2025

PLANTERSVILLE – Barbara Christopher, 68, died after a very brief illness. Barbara was born in Itawamba Co, Mississippi on March 19, 1956 to the late William Fletcher West and Mattie Lucille Barnes West, who survives. She married Perry Christopher on June 19, 1971 and to this union was born two sons, Joey Christopher and Matt Christopher. Nanny loved her 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as her family was a top priority all her life. Barbara was a skilled seamstress and worked over 40 years in several area furniture manufacturing plants including Inmon’s, Taylor Made, Lucky Star and Action/Lane. A lover of all God’s creation, Barbara loved being outdoors in nature, camping, gardening, growing flowers, and being a master green thumb.



A service celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 2 PM in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Elbert Ray Bennett officiating with private ground burial to follow at Union Cemetery south of Plantersville. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Tuesday only. Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Perry Christopher; her sons, Joey Christopher and wife Beverly, and Matt Christopher and wife Kathleen; her grandchildren, Brittany Cuevas (Roman), Miranda Cook (Garrett), Brandon Christopher (Katelin Smith), Will Christopher (Lila Clayton), Lauren Christopher (Gaven Yarborough) and Jake Christopher; her great-grandchildren, Zoey Bass, CJ Cuevas, Landon Cuevas, Tanner Cook, Liddy Cook, Stella Christopher, and Waylyn Christopher; and a host of other family members. Barbara was preceded in death by her dad, William Fletcher West, and her brother, Kenneth West.

Pallbearers will be Will Christopher, Brandon Christopher, Jake Christopher, Romas Cuevas, Garrett Cook, Gavin Yarbrough and Josh West.
