Ronnie Carl Rowland, Sr., 62
June 13, 1962 – January 11, 2025
On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Ronnie Carl “Honey Bunny, “RR” or “whatever anyone else knew him as”, Rowland, Sr., 62, passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a well lived and fulfilled life.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Ronnie will be at 2 PM Wednesday, January 15 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Smith and Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, January 14 at The Ripley Funeral Home and will continue from 9 AM until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be private.
Ronnie was born June 13, 1962, in Ripley, the son of the late J.C. and Helen Schuler Rowland. He received his education from Falkner High School, was a member of Falkner Baptist Church, and was “The Master” mechanic for Rowland’s Garage for 44 years. Because of his longtime connection with the small town of Falkner, Ronnie like to refer to himself as their very own Historian, for he had a great love for the community, and greater love for its people, as he made many friends along the way during his time there. One of his proudest relationships he made during his life, was that of his sweetheart who survives, Mrs. Faye Clevland Rowland, who he married on December 27, 1997.
A man larger than life, Ronnie could make anyone laugh and would give a stranger the shirt off his back (even if it was a little greasy). He was a practical joker whose love for life was evident to see in the way he lived, as he a humorous storyteller, always leaving you with a memory of something funny or crazy Ronnie did while you were with him. A friend to all, Ronnie’s loved visiting with friends over lunch at the local restaurants in town, holding down a stool at Discount Auto, while hanging out and waiting on parts, and keeping the roads hot, while riding around in his antique with Mrs. Faye.
Outside of it all, Ronnie’s family meant more to him than anything else in this world. He always rooted for them, protected them, and never once stopped loving them. Being a family man just came natural to him, as he was determined to provide for those he loved and give them the life he felt they deserved. His heart of gold shined through to others, willingness to help anyway possible was clear to see, and dedication to family, friends, and community will never be forgotten. This world will never be the same without him, but we give all the glory to God that our husband, father, grandfather, friend, and brother in Christ, Ronnie has been healed and experiencing all the wonderful things our Lord and Savior had prepared for him.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Faye, Ronnie is survived by one son, Ronnie Carl “Little Ronnie” Rowland Jr. (Melissa), one sister, Sharon Rowland, three brothers, Jimmy Rowland, Roger Rowland, and John Rowland, two grandchildren, Carson Rowland, and his favorite granddaughter, Lana Rowland, a special nephew, Rodney Rowland, a wide circle of family, cousins, and friends, and of course we could not forget, his 1969 Chevy Camaro, which was his baby and will be parked out front of the funeral home during his services.
He is also preceded in death by one brother Robert Rowland.
