Brenda Carter, 83

February 23, 1941  –  January 11, 2025

TUPELO – Brenda Joyce Miller Carter, 83, departed this realm for her life in eternity from her residence in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 11, 2025.Born in Union County on Feb. 23, 1941 to the late Allen Miller and Emma Sue Hill Miller, she grew up in the Fairfield Community and attended the public school at East Union. A master housewife and homemaker, Brenda married Bobby Carter in 1958 and, to this union was born 3 children, Eddie, Lesia and Sonya. The family moved to Tupelo in l961. Bobby and Brenda were members of Gumtree Presbyterian Church but had been attendee’s at the Orchard until their health began to fail. A great cook and bird watcher and feeder, Brenda loved the outdoors. She was an avid reader of Southern Living Magazine most of her life.

A service celebrating her life will take place at 11:30 Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Pastor Will Rambo officiating. Private burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 PM-6PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025 and one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Surviving Brenda are her husband of 66 years, Bobby Carter of Tupelo; a son, Eddie Carter and wife, Nichole of Conway, Ark. and Sonya Carter Beard and husband, Joey of Lufkin, Tx and Lisa Carter Jacobs of Tupelo; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Boyce Miller.
