Martha Collins, 82
February 17, 1942 – January 16, 2025
TUPELO – After a lifetime of 82 years, high spirited, joyful and delightful Martha Ann Davis Collins departed this life to her eternal life at Magnolia Manor in Tupelo where she had lived in the Dementia Unit the last couple years. Martha was born in Prentiss County, Baldwyn, Mississippi on Feb. 17, 1942 to the late Smith E. Davis and Annie Mae Sumners Davis. She married Albert Lee Collins on Nov. 17, 1958, a marriage of 66 years at her death. Martha was a great soul full of life always. She had more energy than most, could multi task and was extraordinarily great with her organizational ability. She worked many years for Lee County, first in the Tax Collectors office and finishing up her public service career as an Administrative Assistant to the Lee County Board of Supervisors. Martha loved good conversation, made friends easily and was always the life of the party. She loved reading mystery, romance and John Grisham books. A longtime member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, Martha enjoyed her large family and found great joy in doting over their successes. She will be missed
A service celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 20, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Tommy Winders officiating. A private family burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery in Pittsboro, MS. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday-until service time. Martha is survived by her husband, Albert of Tupelo; her three children, Buddy Collins and wife, Sungja of Fulton, Cindy Collins of Tupelo, and Joby Davis Collins, DDS and wife, Tina of Amory; 10 grandchildren, Brad Courtney (Wendy), Marcy Courtney (Mark), Codey Courtney (Nancy Holland), Lindsey Patterson (Linzy), Courtney Collin-Guentner (Andreas), Garrett Collins, Ashton Collins, Chad Neely, Aubrey Gillmann (Colby), and Chase Stanford; 13 great-grandchildren, Logan, AJ, Luca, Kent, Bella, Ryder, Collins, Harper, Foster, Luca, Abagail, Kami, and Emersyn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Annie Mae Davis; and her two younger sisters, Sandra Lynn Davis Brown, and Majorie Beth Davis Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Cody Courtney, Chase Stanford, Brad Courtney, Linzy Patterson, Harper Patterson, Andreas Guentner, Joby Collins, and Buddy Collins.
