David Allen Rooker, 62

December 7, 1962  –  February 1, 2025

OKOLONA – David Allen Rooker, 62, departed this life from NMMC in Tupelo on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born in Okolona on December 7, 1962, he was the son of Thomas Allen Rooker and Bobbie Poyner Rooker, who survive. He attended the Okolona Public School and spent his working life as a truck driver, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. An outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting, fishing and the beautiful lands in the Shake Rag Community of Chickasaw where he lived most of his life. He was raised in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He would give you the shirt off his back even at times when his bark seemed to exceed his bite.

A graveside service honoring his life will take place at 2 PM Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 in Boones Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Dempsey Rowland officiating. He will be interred in the Rooker family plot. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona is honored to be serving their friends.

David is survived by his parents, Thomas and Bobbie Rooker; a son, Buddy Allen Rooker; a daughter, Linda Gale Patterson; a brother, Michael Rooker (Kelly); and his grandchildren, Amber Patterson, Autumn Patterson and Natalie Rooker.
