Born March 21, 1941, in Falkner, Mrs. Jean was the daughter of the late James O. and Mildred Merritt James. She was 1959 graduate of Falkner High School, and dedicated over forty years to the banking industry, as she was employed in the treasure department with Memphis Federal Reserve Bank for thirty-one years and served as a receptionist with the Peoples Bank for thirteen years.

She was avid in keeping up with politics, taking interest in and praying over Israel, and was a number one supporter of Donald Trump. In earlier years favorite pastimes of hers included tending to all of her animals and caring for her donkeys and horses. Mrs. Jean was one of a kind, who possessed an outgoing personality, strong wild mindset, and thrill for life. Her legacy will continue to live on through all those whose life she touched most.

Those left to cherish her memoires include one daughter, Stacy Clearman, and husband, Tim, one grandson, Jack Reno, sister-in-law, Brenda James, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Neal Hopper, two sisters, Joan and Beverly, and one brother, Bobby.
