Carol Pat Jenkins, 91

August 1, 1933  –  February 17, 2025

Tupelo-Carol Ann Watkins “Pat” Jenkins died at her residence in Pontotoc County on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025 after a long period of declining health. She was 91 years old. Pat was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 1, 1933 to the late Charles A. Watkins of Columbus, Ga. and Ruth Essig Watkins of Arcadia, Indiana. She was a lovely soul whose influence in the shared ministry of her late husband, Rev. Robert Jenkins touched many lives over their 40 years as a pastoral family with the United Methodist Conference of Mississippi. She and Robert were married June 18, 1952, Pat was a strong, self sufficient soul who loved Bible study, reading and keeping up with the lives of those parishioners with whom they were blessed to serve while spreading encouraging words for all. She graduated from Draughon’s Business College studying accounting. She and Robert retired permanently to Tupelo in 1988 and became faithful members of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the Circle of Love Bible Group. Pat was skilled with her hands as was her husband who specialized in woodworking making Chrismons. Pat’s needlepoint and crocheting brought her joy as well as the hundreds of pieces she gifted her friends. Gan Gan was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom brought her sheer joy.



A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Tupelo with her daughter in law, Rev. Sherry Jenkins officiating assisted by her pastor, Rev. Amber Lea Gray. Visitation will be from 1 PM until service time Sunday at the Church. She will be inurned in the Church Columbarium immediately following the service. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed on the St. Luke UMC Facebook page. Pat is survived by her son, Bobby Jenkins and his wife, Rev. Sherry Jenkins of Tupelo; a daughter, Donna Carol Jenkins Habel (Bruce) of North Carolina; a daughter in law, Sheryl Jenkins of Oxford; her grandchildren, Charles Shelby “ C.J.” Jenkins (Mary Margaret), Luke Jenkins, Robby Jenkins (Donielle, Nick Jenkins (Ashley), Meridith Jenkins , Andrew Habel and Kevin Habel (Lizzie Ann) and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert on April 16, 2021, his son, Dr. Charles “ Chuck” Jenkins who died July 10, 2015 and a half sister.
