March 13, 1946March 15, 2025

On Saturday morning, March 15, 2025, Terry Wayne Tigrett, 79, resident of Blue Mountain, passed away at Tippah County Hospital.

Funeral Services, with military honors, honoring Terry’s life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Tad Sharum and Bro. Charlie Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 2 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blue Mountain Cemetery.

Terry was born March 13, 1946, in Blue Mountain, Mississippi to the late Mark Lo and Leatrice Jones Tigrett and received his education from Blue Mountain School.  He was a proud Army veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War period, as a bulldozer operator from 1966 until 1968.  A Christian and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he enjoyed learning the history behind the Lord’s Gospel, discussing this with his son at the table every Sunday.  Being very knowledgeable and sharp-minded, he was a passionate animal lover, an avid historian and a “shade tree” mechanic who loved working with his hands on just about anything.  Terry will forever be missed by all that loved him, but they have peace knowing he is rejoicing in heaven with his Lord and that he ran to meet his three dogs, Dee-Dee, his pet crow, and 80 cats that crossed the rainbow bridge before his passing.

Precious memories will continue to be shared by his wife of forty-three years, Jan, two daughters, Angela Tigrett of Chicago and Jodeen Tigrett of Rochelle, Illinois, three sisters, Mary Moore of Savannah, Georgia, Jamie Stevens of Dallas, Texas, and Jimmie Sue Gay (Larry) of Ripley, a very special friend, Kim Klingel, a special neighbor, Shelia Cook and his ten cats.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Terry Wayne Tigrett, Jr. and Christopher Charles Tigrett, one sister, Shirley Smith and two brothers, Charles and Billy Joe Tigrett.
