Hazel Annette Churchill, 84

January 5, 1941  –  March 29, 2025

Hazel Annette Churchill (84) transitioned to her eternal home on March 29th, 2025.

She was born January 5th, 1941 in New Albany, MS, to the late John and Ruby Sappington Hill. Hazel married Billy Churchill on April 20th, 1957. A devoted Christian, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she greatly enjoyed her Sunday School class especially being involved in their card ministry even after she was no longer able to attend in person. She was a very special lady whose extraordinary gifts of kindness, encouragement, prayers and love are cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She enjoyed bird watching, jigsaw puzzles and word searches.

She is survived by daughter Rena McMillen (Jerry), sons Rodney Churchill (Tonya) and Ricky Churchill (Karen). Twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, brothers Norman Hill and Ronnie Hill, sister Diane Hill, sister in law Janie Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy, daughter Renita Churchill Jones, her parents- in-law Coy and Oda Pence Churchill, three sisters Lynne Hill Mansel, Ruth Hill Breland and Rhonda Hill and a brother Wayne Hill.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, from 1:30 until 3:30 at United Funeral Service of New Albany, the funeral service immediately following at 3:30, with Bro. Jeremiah McMillen and Bro. Lee Dillard officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Churchill, Kenneth Dillard, Larry Murphee, Walter Richardson, Patrick Grisham, Larry Bryant, and Noah Bryant.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
