Terry Gillard, 69

June 15, 1955 – May 29, 2025

TUPELO – Terry Jerome Gillard was born June 15, 1955, to his parents Fannie Mae Cleveland and Harold Gillard in Tupelo, MS. He professed his hope and love in Christ and was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church (Clayton). Terry attended Carver High School where he made many dear friends. “Weasel,” as he was affectionally known, had a kind, caring, and gentle spirit. He walked everywhere he went and would often be seen pushing his grocery cart at Walmart and Todd’s Big Star on Main Street. He had a genuine love for people which shone brightly as the sun. Terry never met a stranger, and loved to interact with people and it showed throughout the community. If you mentioned the name “Weasel,” you were met with a smile. He will truly be missed.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 1 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming and archived thereafter. Terry leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Fannie Mae Cleveland; his brother, Harry Gilliam; his sister, Rochelle Douglass; his uncle, George Gilliam, all from Tupelo, MS; a very special cousin, Natalie Ezell (Oliver) of Hernando, MS; two special and dear friends, Diane Bolton of Pontotoc, MS, and Robyn Gipson of Tupelo, MS; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Harold Gillard; his sister, Phyllis Turner; his maternal grandparents, Bob and Ozelle Gilliam; and his paternal grandparents, Fount and Annie Gillard.
