Larry William Curry, 71
January 1, 1954 – June 20, 2025
Larry William Curry was born on January 1, 1954, to Emma Calomese Curry and Grover Cleveland Curry in Baldwyn, Mississippi. Larry professed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Springhill M.B. Church in Baldwyn. He made his transition from this life to eternal life on June 20, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo at the age of 71.
Larry attended Lee Prentiss High School in Baldwyn. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Cooper Tire Rubber Company for thirty years before retirement. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Rienzi Bass Club, Tupelo Bass Club, Cooper Tire Bass Club, Mountain Dew Bass Trail, The Fishers of Man Bass Trail, and the Tenn-Tom Bass Trail. He also fished in the St. Jude Bass Classic.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife: Barbara Curry of Pontotoc; son: LaVar “Bo” Curry (Lida) of Marietta, Georgia; daughter: Dr. Jamye Savage (Kendrick) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; grandson: Marcus Sacia Curry of Marietta; granddaughters: Kurrie Savage, Kenley Savage and Kambry Savage of Lawrenceville; sisters: Cora Dyas and Jeannie Stubbs of Baldwyn and Patty Tucker of Guntown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Cleveland and Emma Curry; brothers: George Curry and Max Curry.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at East Baptist Church, 340 Clark Street, Pontotoc, MS 38863. Viewing will be one hour before service.
