Raymond Earl Hurley, 76

July 7, 1948 – June 27, 2025

EGGVILLE –Raymond Earl Hurley, a native of Hatley in Monroe Co. and resident for 26 years in the Eggville Community died late Friday evening June 27, 2025, at Cedars Health and Rehab in Tupelo where he had briefly resided. He was 76 years old. Born on July 7, 1948, he was one of 9 children born to the late Fred Hurley and Jesker Holloway Hurley Married since 1995 to Cleo Hurley, he worked many years at Walker Manufacturing in Aberdeen and spent the last 30 as a self-employed master mechanic. A member of the Cayson Baptist Church, Raymond loved fishing in earlier in life. He loved being a mechanic, working on automobiles, yard work, keeping it mowed beautifully and growing rose bushes and traveling to the mountains on vacation. He led a quiet, productive purpose filled life with his family being primary and being a loyal supporter and encourager to his many friends.



A service celebrating his life will take place at 3 PM Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Danny Robbins officiating. Private burial will follow at Eggville Cemetery in the Eggville Community. Visitation will be from 4 PM-6PM Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Holland-Tupelo and from 2 PM-service time on Wednesday. Raymond leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 30 years, Cleo Williams Hurley of Eggville: 6 children, Denna Abbott (Michael) of Houston, Marlena Scott (Jay) of Saltillo, Shelly Sheffield (Brent) of Mooreville and Elizabeth Miller of Gordo, Ala., Scott Hurley (Jill) of Hatley and Dewayne Hurley of Nettleton; his grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Sarah, Kayla, Devan, Kate, Payden and Bri; several great grandchildren; his brother, Jimmy Hurley (Linda) of the Quincy Community and a sister, Shirley Hurley of Smithville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jesker Hurley, and his siblings, Grady, Russell, James Doyle, Betsy and Linnie Mae.
