Ronald Scales, 76
September 19, 1948 – July 16, 2025
It is with laughter and tears that we celebrate the life of Ronald Scales, who took one final unforgettable ride on his motorcycle and rode straight into the sunset Wednesday July 16, 2025 at the age of 76.
He was born September 19, 1948, with an “I Can Do Anything” attitude within his soul. Ronald Scales never did anything halfway. He lived his life to the fullest rather he was adding unnecessary accessories to his motorcycle; throwing his birthday celebration; giving advice you didn’t ask for, but needed, and then providing his help. He was the kind of man who saw the world best from three wheels. His bike wasn’t just a machine; it was an extension of his spirit, free and headed somewhere with purpose (even if he never used a GPS).
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents Earline Cummings Scales and Lewis Scales. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. At an early age, he joined Sandhill M. B. Church, where he was a faithful member. He was a member of the class of 1969. He retired from Delta Mfg. in Tupelo, MS.
He is survived by three daughters: Kimberly Franklin (Herfner) Atlanta, Georgia, Sharon Scales (Josh) and Ronica Scales of Baldwyn, MS; one son, Jass Scales of Baldwyn, MS; one sister, Arzella Foster; three brothers: Wayne Scales, Preston Scales and Timothy Scales; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a special friend, Ms. Kim Smith; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; a garage full of stories and a community of people who are better because they knew him.
We will remember the laugh, stubbornness, and roadside mission visits, just to stop by and conversate a moment. So, here’s to you Ronald Scales, may your roads be endless, your skies blue, and your tank full of fuel. We will see you at the next stop.“Ride in Peace”
