Saltillo- Hubert Earl Weathers, 92, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Amory. He was born on August 31, 1932, in Eggville to Noon and Ellie Mae Weathers. He faithfully served his country, joining the United States Air Force shortly after graduating from high school. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant in June 1974, and followed his military service with a career of 20 years with the United States Postal Service.
He was a faithful husband and father. He married Carrie Marie Gannon of Rienzi on June 3, 1961. Their union was blessed with two children. He was a faithful Christian as a member of the Mayfield Church of Christ in Saltillo.
He is survived by his son, David Weathers and his wife, Mandy, of Calhoun, Georgia; daughter, Lisa Kyle and her husband, Henry, of Amory; brother, Gerald Weathers and his wife, Patricia, of Huntsville, Alabama; three grandsons, Austin Tidwell and his wife, Harley, of Pontotoc, Jacob Kyle and his wife, Josie, of Tupelo, and Hampton Weathers of Kennesaw, Georgia; step-granddaughter, Meghan Talley and her husband, Dustin, of Corinth; seven great-grandchildren; and a faithful military friend of many years, Paul Becker of Barling, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and an infant brother, James Olen Weathers.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Pegues, Saltillo.
A service in honor of Hubert’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Saltillo Chapel with Minister Adam Miller officiating and Mike Miller providing a eulogy. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mike Miller, Mark Stiles, Wayne Williams, Roger Sanderson, Lonnie Neaves, and Kurt Bond.
