Eunice Harris Duncan, 99

Eunice Harris Duncan passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany, MS, the very town where she was born on December 12, 1925, to the late Henry Lee Harris and Martha Palmer Harris. Eunice lived a rich and fulfilling life, characterized by her unwavering faith, her creative spirit, and her innate ability to care for and nurture those around her.



Eunice’s legacy is one of love and devotion, not only to her family but to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is survived by her granddaughters, Tina Gray (Jason Stewart) and Tracie Turner (Anthony Hendrix). She also leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren, Collin Gray (Krystie), Kolby Gray (Katie), Reid Turner, Gentry Turner, and Jordan Turner, each of whom brought immeasurable joy into her life, as well as three adored great-great-grandchildren, Kameron Frazier (Brayden), Brayden Gray, and Caden Gray. Eunice’s extended family includes Kathy Radford , whom she raised as her own. And Cathy’s husband Kevin and their children, Alyssa, Julia, and Anthony. Eunice has now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Robert Charles Duncan, her dear daughter Martha Koss, her parents, and all of her siblings.

Professionally, Eunice was a respected supervisor for the Baptist Memorial Hospital Business Office, where she dedicated many years of service before her retirement. However, her work was not limited to her professional endeavors; her vibrant spirit and generous heart led her to many interests and associations. She was a passionate individual who took great pleasure in working in her yard, creating intricate crocheted pieces, and sewing beautiful garments. Eunice’s caregiving nature extended into her role as a homemaker, where she loved to cook and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Her home was a haven of warmth, often filled with the sounds of laughter from her great-grandchildren and the soft purr of her cherished cat, Oreo. Eunice reveled in the achievements of her great-grandchildren, proudly keeping up with the various sports they played. Her devotion to Hillcrest Baptist Church was unwavering, and she found great solace and wisdom in her faithful reading of The Bible.

To say that Eunice was loving and faith-filled would be an understatement; she touched many lives with her generosity and her creative soul. She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the numerous lives she touched. Eunice Harris Duncan’s story is one of a life well-lived and a legacy of love and faith that will endure forever. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by the smiles and the fond recollections of the many people she inspired throughout her remarkable 99 years.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at United Funeral Service from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Don Chandler will officiate. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Gardens. United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements.
