Sharon was born on August 21, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee to Charley Eugene and Laura Agnes Thomas. From an early age, she was blessed with a servant’s heart and a deep love for caring for others. This calling led her into a meaningful career as a nurse, a profession in which she took great pride and through which she touched countless lives with compassion and kindness.

A woman of strong faith, Sharon was an active member of Ripley First Methodist Church. She faithfully served in the United Methodist Women’s Ministry and was instrumental in establishing the church’s Logos program. Beyond her church family, she extended her care to the wider community by volunteering at My Choices Pregnancy Help Clinic, giving her time, talents, and love to those in need.

Sharon’s warmth was also felt in her home and among her family. She was an avid baker, always eager to share sweet treats with family and friends. With her skilled hands, she created countless quilts, crochet work, and sewn treasures—heirloom pieces that will be cherished for generations as a reminder of her love and creativity.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Michael Waymon King; her children April Bullock (Tommy “Bo”) of Dumas, Heather Pouncey (Brent) of Meridian, and Tommy King (Tiffany) of Memphis, TN; and her grandchildren Warren Bullock (Kayla), Jake Bullock (Kelsey), Laura Beth Bullock, and Beau Bullock. She was blessed to know and love her great-grandsons Max and Campbell, as well as her honorary great-grandson Miller. Sharon is also survived by her sister Gladys King, a large circle of in-laws she considered siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Laura Thomas; her brothers, Charles David and Billy Thomas; and her sister, Martha King; and her father- and mother-in-law, Doulphus “Billy” and Hazel King.

Sharon’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith. She will be remembered not only for her generous heart and tireless dedication to others but also for the way she made every person feel deeply cared for. Her life was a testament to kindness, faith, and family.
