Sherry Frances Thompson Carr, 72

April 10, 1953  –  September 28, 2025

Tupelo – Sherry Frances Thompson Carr, 72, took her flight to eternal life from Sanctuary Hospice House on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025. She was the wife of Donald M “Don” Carr, the mother of Jason and Justin Carr and the grandmother of Christian, Skylar, Kendyl, Mattie Kate and Sarah and the sister of Mary Anne Sanders. Sherry was a brilliant, devoted and encouraging school teacher in Nettleton and Tupelo Schools as well as Tupelo Christian Preparatory School. Her life was lived in service to her God, her family and elementary school children.

A service celebrating her life will take place at 2 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2025 in the Sanctuary of West Jackson St. Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Cochran and Bro. Chris O’Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 AM-service time on Wednesday only at West Jackson St. Baptist Church, 1347 W. Jackson St., Tupelo, Ms. 38801.
