Janet Juanita “Cooter” Hogue, 72

September 6, 1953 – October 4, 2025

Janet Juanita “Cooter” Hogue, 72, resident of Tippah County, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Longwood Community Living Center, in Booneville, MS.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Hogue will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home, with Bro. Dewayne Floyd officiating.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 10 AM until time of service in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Criswell Cemetery.

Born on September 6, 1953, in Booneville, MS, to the late Vertis and Inez Holland Morrison, Mrs. Hogue was a graduate of Ripley High School.  In her younger years, she worked as a beautician, where she made many lasting friendships.  Later she served as office manager for Mike Roberts Builders until her retirement.

A Christian and member of North Ripley Baptist Church, Mrs. Hogue lived a life with joy and humor.  She loved her morning coffee most of all, but also enjoyed camping, riding jet skis, playing cards, working word search puzzles, and tending to her flowers.  Fun-loving and full of life, she treasured her family deeply, her grandchildren, especially, were her greatest joy.  Those who knew her will miss her dearly but will forever cherish the memories they shared.

She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Blair (Brian Blair) of Ripley, five beloved grandchildren, Colton and Ayleah Wilbanks, and Tripp, Ryder and Gavin Blair, one niece, Krystal Floyd, three nephews, Jason Ballard, Jeremy Hogue and Allen Hogue, as well as a host of cousin and friends.

Mrs. Hogue was preceded in death by her husband, Noia Lee Hogue, two sisters, Anita Ballard and Jamie Willa Morrison, and by her beloved granddog, Grizz.
