Milton Charles Elliott, 84
August 6, 1941 – October 11, 2025
It is with much love that we celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Elliott. He loved his Lord, his family, his church, and the people of his community. For the most part, he was outgoing and enjoyed life. Some of his favorite things included fishing, metal detecting, eating out, a freshly-brewed cup of coffee, family gatherings, reading his Bible along with Dr. David Jeremiah books, and writing songs and poetry. He was a fan of Pine Grove basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. Researching his ancestry was a special interest to him, and he looked forward to getting together with his cousins at the family reunion. At any time, he was always ready to spend a day in Tishomingo County visiting the cemeteries and his childhood home place. One of his greatest loves was listening to and singing southern gospel music. He was gifted with a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing bass for several quartets, as well as in church.
Lately, one of his favorite pastimes was spending time visiting and cutting up with his friends at the Dumas Store. He took great pride in being a member of the Lion’s Club, as well as, a member of Mount View Baptist Church.
Charles passed away on October 11, 2025 at Tippah County Hospital. He was born on August 6, 1941 to Edward Clayton Elliott and Lula Cleo Hardwick Elliott in Tishomingo County. Most of his career was spent as a supervisor for Genesco Shoe Company and later as a salesman at Cooper Freight.
Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years Sarah Sparks Elliott; one daughter: Karen Elliott of Ripley, MS; two sons: Chris Elliott (Kathy) of Flora, MS and Tony Elliott (Heather) of Dumas, MS. He is loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Willie Mae Johnson.
