Lillie B. Humphrey, 75
January 15, 1950 – October 4, 2025
Mrs. Lillie B. Humphrey, 75, of Waterford, MS, transitioned on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, MS.
Born January 15, 1950, Lillie B. Delvridge was the first daughter of Elijah “Bunt” and Carrie Mae Delvridge, both of whom preceded her in death. A life-long member of Wilkins Chapel C.M.E. Church, Lillie B. served as a choir member, Missionary, and until her health failed, a working member of the Usher Ministry. She loved her church family and was especially excited to fix her famous green peas and okra for any potluck meal. Lillie was a hard-working woman, starting in the cotton fields as a child and then Wurlitzer in the 70’s, a Nanny for local families and finally retiring from ICS Headstart. Though she saw several months of declining health, she was just as feisty as ever, never losing her hope and faith. Triumphantly, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Oxford, Lillie answered the Master’s call and transcended this earthly realm.
B was married in 1972 to the late Melroy Humphrey and as the Matriarch of the family, Lillie B. leaves to cherish her memories: two amazing daughters; Locettia and Rosezettia Humphrey, two grandsons; Kerrick (Cristy) and Darodrick Humphrey. She was preceded to glory by her darling granddaughter, Jasmine Janae Humphrey. B. was also the surviving sibling of five, Robert, James, A.C. (Evelyn) and Annie B.
She was a loving bonus granny to Ava, Anna and Andrew. With a heart so big, B. even helped raise her grateful niece, Alicia (Jody). She also leaves with fond memories her Nieces & Nephews (Carlos, Kelon, Kamara, Joy, Evan, Montrez, KJ., СJ. Conelia, Qwinessa, Robert, Lolita, Jaimey, Courtney, Anthony, Carter, Kaylee, Kayden and Iceland), elder cousins, Rev. Roy Lee Jeffries, Vernon (Cleo) Wilkins, Martha Galloway; sisters in love, Delois, Elizabeth and Charlotte; brothers in love, Willie Jr, Ralph and Danny Moering, Aunts – Novellar Marion, Maggie and Joesphine Delvridge, Uncle Stanley Delvridge, and lifelong friends Lela Jeffries and Betty Martin; Special Son in love; Danny Cathey, God-daughter – Latonya Gardner and church daughters: Lakeisia Martin, Santresa Pegues, and Cathleen Wilson.
Rest now Sweet Lillie, your journey down here is done. Rest now Sweet Lillie, you fought a good fight, your battle has been won. Rest now Sweet Lillie, our hearts will grieve and someday heal. Rest now Sweet
