Terry Wayne Rogers, 63
September 12, 1962 – October 7, 2025
Terry Wayne Rogers was born on September 12, 1962, to the late Earlie and Joan Rogers (Terry’s parents) who preceded him in death. He also had a sister (Linda) preceded him in death as well as his Grandparents (Joe and Ethel Rogers).
Terry lived a full and adventurous life in Chicago, Illinois, for over 30 years. He attended Robert Emmett North Elementary School, 1972-1976, and graduated from eighth grade and went on to attend Austin Branch West High School (1976-80).
Terry found fun, laughter, and talent in skating in Chicago in the early 1980s. He found something he was great at. If Terry could speak to us today, he would probably say… He did the crazy leg/ the solo skating/ the group skating. He achieved great respect in his skating adventures, and he stuck with it for years. His skating club was “Chi-Town Players” with several of his childhood, and adulthood friends (Chester, Tommy, Champ and Arthur) and sometimes Ced.
Terry’s first-born son is (Monurice Houston) from Chicago, Illinois. Terry has 4 grandchildren, Jamyla Young (16), Mounurice Houston Jr. (14), Journi Houston (9), and Mo’Ana Wolfe (2). Terry’s second born son Terry, Jr. from Lawrenceville, Georgia, has two more grandchildren Mylani Salazar (8), and Tristian Griffin (6).
Terry moved to Shannon, Mississippi in 1991, he worked at Allan White Furniture for several years, and he also worked at Jesco Construction, for several years. When his hand injury started to give him problems, he dedicated his time hanging around the house more with his parents and siblings in Mississippi. Terry did things that he wasn’t supposed to do “mischief” in his younger age also, in his older age. He didn’t listen much! However, we loved him through it all. We have tons of stories throughout the entire Family, that we can share but we will cherish them Forever! We will laugh, laugh, and remember them all!
Terry leaves to mourn his two sons, Mounrice and Terry Jr, and all his grandchildren. He leaves his siblings, Anita (Curtis), Earl, Dennis, Joyce (Walter), Fred (Sharon), Barbara, Faye (David), Casundra, Freda (Marlow), and Angela, as well as a host of nieces, nephews.
