Brenda Gail Pierce Nelson, 69
January 11, 1956 – November 2, 2025
Brenda Gail Pierce Nelson, age 69, departed this walk of life and entered into her eternal home on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in the peace and comfort of her home, surrounded by those who loved her most.
Per Brenda’s request, she will be cremated, and no services are scheduled at this time. Her family sincerely appreciates the continued prayers, love, and friendship shown during this season of loss.
Born on January 11, 1956, at Greenville Hospital, Brenda was the daughter of the late William Edward and Margaret Gray Pierce. A proud graduate of Holly Springs High School, she remained a lifelong resident of the Holly Springs community — never straying far from the town and people she so dearly loved.
Over the years, Brenda worked as a truck driver and later with a plastics company, but she found her true calling serving as a guard with the Holly Springs Correctional Facility, where she devoted more than a decade of her life. Her work was more than a job — it was a reflection of her strength, fairness, and integrity, qualities that earned the respect of everyone around her.
A Christian woman with a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, Brenda was happiest when she was outdoors — camping beneath the stars, casting a line across a quiet pond, or traveling down country roads to wherever her heart led. Her favorite season was Christmas, when she filled her home and yard with bright, cheerful lights that reflected her vibrant personality and love for celebration.
Brenda had a way of making a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was never one to sugarcoat her thoughts and always spoke her mind with honesty and conviction. You never had to wonder where you stood with her — and that was one of her greatest strengths. Genuine, outspoken, and full of heart, she lived life on her own terms and loved deeply those who walked beside her.
The world could use more people like Brenda — strong yet kind, firm yet compassionate, and always true to herself. Though her earthly journey has ended, her light continues to shine in the memories of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Those left to carry on her legacy include her brother and sister in law, Ronnie and Helen Pierce, a faithful friend and devoted caretaker, Billy Nelson, and a large circle of close family friends that knew and loved her.
