Seqouyia “Cha” Williams, 43

September 16, 1982  –  November 3, 2025

Seqouyia Cache’ Williams, lovingly known as “Cha”, left this world on November 3, 2025, but her vibrant spirit remains an inspiration to all who knew her. Born to the late Bobby Walker and Doris Williams on September 16, 1982, in the warm community of Pontotoc, Mississippi, Cha’s life was a light to all who knew her.

Cha’s relationship with God was evident in her life, as she was a member at Usher Valley United Methodist Church in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life’s ebbs and flows with grace and perseverance.

Cha’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith and her dedication to her beloved children, Cortavius and Jatavia. A proud graduate of Pontotoc High School, she embraced the role of motherhood by nurturing her children with love and wisdom. Her legacy as a mother is etched in the hearts of her children, who carry forward her lessons of kindness and resilience. She shared her heart with a loving companion, Mr. Benard White, for over fifteen years. Together they enjoyed a life built on adoration, devotion, and friendship.

Traveling brought her immense joy, as she treasured discovering new places with family and friends. Dancing was her soul’s expression, a way to celebrate the moment and embrace the music of life. Shopping was not just a pastime for Cha; it was an opportunity to connect with friends, share laughter, and create memories. Her home was a place of warmth and laughter, where get-togethers with family were not just gatherings but celebrations of togetherness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Walker and Doris Williams; one sister, Lashya Williams; grandparents, Velma Pulliam, Vinson Williams, and Georgia B. Ware.

Cha leaves to cherish her loving memory: her son, Cortavius Shelton; her daughter, Jatavia Pass; her loving companion, Benard White; two brothers, Kasar Latham and Isaiah Latham; two sisters, Carlesa Williams and Artasia Williams; a beloved future granddaughter, Emery Claire Shelton; six aunts, Betty Cherry, Marilyn Ray, Lisa Dandridge, Patsy Wilson, Alice Montgomery, and Sarah Currie (Henry); nine uncles, Sonny “Rock” Williams, Arnette Williams (Teresa), William Walker, James Wilson (Mary), Melvin Ware, Willie Ware, Johnny B. Ware (Essie), Joe Ware, and Gerald Ware; four nieces, Sharlexus Williams, Shatorria Williams, Alaysia McCoy, and Alai Bogan; one nephew, Kai Stallworth; one great niece, I’lah Williams; one great nephew, Rhylin Blanchard; her godmother, Johnnie Ruth Dixon and extended family from Dixon and Strong Family; her special family, Sherman Shelton, Linda Shelton, and Corry Shelton; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

As we remember Seqouyia Cache’ Williams, let us not dwell on the loss but celebrate the gift of her life. Her story does not end here; it continues in the lives she touched, the love she shared, and the positive impact she made on the world.
