Johnnie Faye Richey, 83
June 20, 1942 – November 28, 2025
Senatobia/Tupelo-Johnnie Faye Hall Richey, 83, a faithful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many realized the promises of her faith and crossed over into eternity on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025. A native of Lee County, she was a graduate of Saltillo High School, Class of 1959 and married her sweetheart, Edward Hoyt Richey in the Methodist Parsonage in Saltillo on July 31, l959, a marriage of 66 beautiful and faithful years. Johnnie Fay was born on June 20, l942 to the late Alvis Hall and Nona Wren Hall. Not afraid of work, she was employed for 23 years as a seamstress for Reed’s Manufacturing and her last employment was at Cooper Tire for many years, before retiring. A devoted, faithful member of Oak Hill Community Church much of her life, she was a devout Christian whose witness of good, righteous, Godly living served as a example for all! She loved her husband, son and daughter in law and grandchildren passionately and will be missed sorely by all of them. Johnnie Fay was an avid reader, especially the Bible and was a green thumb whose plants and flowers were always perfect. Her life priorities were God, family and community. A beloved aunt, her quiet, gentle spirit and servant’s heart will be her legacy for future generations.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Nov. 30.2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Donnie Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Sunday at the funeral home and continue until service time. Johnnie Fay is survived by her husband, Hoyt Richey; his grandchildren, Cody Richey and Lance Richey (Rachel) of Senatobia and their mother and her beloved daughter in law, Melissa Richey all of Senatobia; his great granddaughter, Oaklyn Richey and her mother, Megan. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Scotty Richey; a sister, Mattie Sue Herring and a brother Eddie Dale Hall.
